Geology Walk: Dakota Trail
Join Park Interpreter and Geology Enthusiast Jennifer for a fun nature walk out in the park. Come travel back in time over 300 million years through the Park’s amazing geology! While the walk will have a geology emphasis, other topics of the park will be covered.
- Approx. 3-mile walk, over paved and dirt trails. Sturdy shoes, hat, water, and sunscreen recommended
- If bad weather, this program will become an indoor program.
- The walk starts outside the Visitor and Nature Center at the flagpole alcove, and ends back at the Visitor and Nature Center
- No Refunds
- During the busy summer months, the Visitor Center parking lot can quickly fill up. We recommend arriving early to secure a parking spot or consider using the overflow lot located across 30th Street. From there, you can take the FREE shuttle or enjoy a 5 minute walk up the paved Foothills Trail to the Visitor Center
