Description

                        Join us for a special presentation and hike in Garden of the Gods Park to learn about Julia Archibald Holmes, the first recorded woman to hike Pikes Peak in August 1858. Included is a hands-on chance to explore a pack and outfit like what Julia used in 1858. Hike length: Approximately 3 miles.  Dress for the weather with hiking shoes and bring a daypack with water, a hat, snacks and sunscreen. Meet in the Red Rocks Room at the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center. Presented by Elizabeth Barber, Program Coordinator for the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center.
