Winter Solstice Hike (Dec 21st, 5-7 PM)
The Winter Solstice is the night that is the longest of the year which is great for astronomy. While on this hike through the park you’ll learn a little more about what a “Solstice” is and its significance to culture and our observations of the stars. This 2 hour, approximately 3 mile hike will start at the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center. Telescopes for night sky viewing will be available after the hike. Dress for the weather with good hiking shoes. Red flashlights only please! (We’ll have flashlights for attendees to use.)
