“On this 90-minute Qi Gong hike, focusing on health and vitality from the inside out, we will travel through picturesque trails of Garden of the Gods Park.
What is Qi Gong? Qi is life-force energy. Gong is skill or expertise. Qi Gong is the skill at balancing the energy of our body, heart, and mind; an invitation to slow down and move through life with relaxation. Our hike will include breath work, activation, warm-up and stretch, flows with mindful movement and standing postures. This hike is suitable for newcomers as well as people of all fitness levels. You will find it a very invigorating and uplifting way to enjoy one of our country’s most magnificent parks! Your body, heart, and mind will be revitalized from practicing Qi Gong. We will do a combination of hiking and stopping along the route at suitable spots to practice Qi Gong.
I (Cindy Hamel) am a certified Qi Gong and Tao Yin instructor. I am also a former teacher and athletic coach and enjoy bringing out the best in others. My students say they like the way I demonstrate this ancient practice with visual and word cues and how they feel afterwards. This is a wonderful opportunity to be connected and I feel very blessed to have this partnership with Garden of the Gods. I love hiking and practicing Qi Gong out in nature and hope you will join me.
