Healthy Forests

This presentation provides an overview of healthy forests, what they are and why they are important, including benefits to our water supplies, air, climate, wildlife, and activities like agriculture and building construction.  We’ll also discuss ways to improve forest health, and highlight a method being used increasingly in Colorado, ecological restoration. Ecological restoration strives to repair damaged forests (such as by wildfire, insect epidemics, or drought) by techniques such as soil improvement, revegetation, and erosion control. This presentation will focus on Urban Trees. We’ll hear about their benefits, plus ways to select trees, choose a location for them, and plant, grow, and maintain them.

Our presenters include two ISA-certified arborists, Brad Maddy and Mike Masters, of SavATree. Bring your tree questions!

We encourage you to stop and get a drink or snack from our Gateway Cafe before or after the presentation!
