Gearing Up for the Summer!
As the busy summer season approaches, we’re putting all the pieces in place to welcome guests from all over the world to the incredible Garden of the Gods Park! For some, this will be their first time seeing the iconic red rock formations, while others may be returning to the Park after years away. But no matter how versed our visitors are in the Garden, we make it our top priority to roll out the red carpet and make summer at the Garden of the Gods an unforgettable experience!
One way that we help guests navigate the Garden every year is with our summer shuttle service! This free service allows visitors to easily access the Visitor Center, the Overflow Parking Lot, the fabulous Rock Ledge Ranch, and the ever-popular Central Garden all in one convenient loop! Starting from May 25-27th, then continuing from June 1-August 18th, with a final stretch from August 31-September 1st, the summer shuttle will run from 9am to 5:30pm, allowing guests to swiftly move between the various features of the Park without worry!
To add to the list of what we’ve got cooking for the summer: April will see the first of this year’s Park road closures as our famous Motorless Morning event kicks off on the 28th! This twice-yearly event – along with its smaller cousin, the monthly Early Bird Hike & Bike – will close off the roadways into the Garden of the Gods Park to motor vehicles. This allows pedestrians of all other forms to enjoy the Park at their leisure without the stress of vehicle traffic getting in the way. Simply park at the Visitor Center or Overflow Lot, and be sure to bring your shoes, gear, bike, skateboard, or whatever else you’ve got! Of course, be sure to follow all Park rules, be mindful of other parkgoers, and dress accordingly. Below is a list of the dates and times of this year’s Motorless Mornings and Hike & Bikes:
April 28 (and Fall date TBD): Motorless Morning from 5am-12pm. Normal operations continue after 12pm.
May 29th, June 26th, July 31st, August 28th, and September 25th: Early Bird Hike & Bike from 5am-8am. Normal operations continue after 8am.
And that’s about it for now! Be sure to stay tuned to hear more about the events we have going on in the Garden this year, and we can’t wait to see you soon!
