Adventure Level Segway Tours

Tours available 9 am – 1 pm (hourly)

Unobscured views and a mellow pace will make your visit to this beautiful park memorable. Your guide will point out exotic plant life, local animal life, and of course, numerous spectacular geologic formations and the unique caricatures hidden within them. We make several short stops to admire the sights, and will stay on the Segways for most of the tour. You’ll view the wonders of the South and North Gateway Rocks, Kissing Camels, Three Graces, Sleeping Giant, Park Overlook, and Praying Hands. You’ll learn about the geological and cultural history of the park, not to mention, the opportunity to learn the most famous tall tales and true stories The Old West and Colorado Springs have to offer.

These tours take place on city streets and bike lanes and are considered moderate to advanced.  All guests will receive training and rider evaluation, in the coned zone, prior to the tour.

Cost: $99 per guest (minimum of 5 guests) *plus 18% concession fee

Day-of, In-person reservations may be available, at The Visitor and Nature Center, but we recommend making reservations in advanced. These tours ar available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Segway Tour FAQ’s

  • The Segway tour follows the bike trail that circles the central garden.  Some of the route is on park roads and others are on pathways.
  • Yes.  Various viewing stops along the way are included.
  • Yes.  Our team of professional guides dress the part and are full of knowledge.  Your time with them will be the highlight of your time in Colorado.
  • Tours can be scheduled on a walk-up basis at the activities desk or in advance via our online reservation system.
  • Tours can be booked by following the link to our reservation page.  Tour availability and capacity is accurate on the website.
  • Tours can be booked in advance up to 2 hours before departure time via the online reservation system.  Subject to space still being available.
  • Walk up tours are booked by the activities desk on the lower level of the Visitors Center.         
  • All tours booked within two hours of tour time need to be in person at the activities desk.
  • Yes.  Tours are booked as a first come first serve basis.  It is recommended that you book online to guarantee a spot on your schedule.
  • Tours depart throughout the day depending on walk up times.  In the summer months it is hourly.
  • Yes, and all tours are weather dependent.  Cooler days with temps below 45 degrees tours are canceled.  Tours will also be canceled at the discretion of AOW on bad weather days. 
  • Typical summer weather includes chance of sunburn and afternoon showers.
  • Yes.  AOW needs 24 hrs. notice to cancel a tour reservation.  Within 24 hours you will be charged for the tour.
  • Tours depart on time as scheduled.  Late arrivals may not get their tour experience and will be charged. Please check in early.
  • The GOGVNC has limited parking.  During the busy summer months guest can take advantage of the overflow parking lot and complimentary shuttle.  Please arrive early as it may take up to 30 minutes to park and navigate the shuttle.

No.  Segways are not appropriate for those who are not nimble on their feet, not looking for a riskier adventure and are not able to jump off in an emergency.  Segways are fun but not for everyone.

  • Children under 12 are not allowed.
  • Tours are on city streets and guests need to be street wise.  Thank you for your understanding.
  • Yes.  Private tours are booked by calling our office or booking all seats available in advance.
  • Your camera and hydrated spirit.  Tour sunny dry environment can change quickly.  A bottle of water is recommended as well as a light jacket/ sweatshirt and sunscreen. 
  • Generally, no.  The tours stop in various places as time and parking allows.  Guest should use the restroom, located on the second floor of the Visitors Center, before tour departure.
  • Yes.  If after training, you do not feel comfortable on the Segway you can choose not to go and receive a full refund.
  • Depends on the rider.  Guest who are steady on the feet with good balance will have a good experience.  But the Segway is not like a bike and the rider needs to follow along, pay attention and stay away from the curb.  Accidents on the Segway can be severe.
