Colorado’s Original Scientists

Before Franklin, before Sagan, before Tesla there were scientists on this continent. The Ute people who lived on this land long before the United States existed, knew how to not just survive, but thrive here. During this program you will learn about one aspect of the Ute Peoples’ ability to understand the world around them. We may explore the flora here and how the Ute were able to use them. We may explore the way that the Ute would engineer their homes! No matter what, we will learn about Colorado’s original scientists.

This program has both an indoor portion and an outdoor hike portion. The hike will be between 1 and 2 miles long. Please dress appropriately for the weather! This month we will be learning about how the Ute People used various plants in the area for food!
