Fall Festivities & A Feature From Fodor’s!

Another Awesome Shout-Out!

As if this year couldn’t get any better, our incredible Garden of the Gods Park has been recognized by yet another renowned travel outlet! That’s right: the travel experts over at Fodors, a world-class travel and tourism organization based out of New York city has nominated us as one of the “25 Must-See Bucket List Places to Visit in the U.S.”! We’ve been incredibly fortunate to receive such praise this year, and this latest nomination is yet another way for us to get eyes on our amazing, one-of-a-kind state park. After all, we all know what makes the GoG and Colorado Springs special, and it’s always great to share that magic with travelers across the country and the world alike. By the way, their list is no slouch, either: we’re up there with the likes of Times Square, Fenway Park, the Grand Canyon, and Disney’s Magic Kingdom! Be sure to check out the full list as well as their website for a whole wealth of fabulous travel recommendations and curated lists of must-see destinations!

A Fall Check-In

Aside from that, our Fall season has been full of exciting happenings! Though this is considered our shoulder season, we’ve been keeping pretty busy here at the VNC! For example, October saw us holding a successful Trick or Treat event that featured several of our partners lending a hand as we welcomed countless costumed kiddos to the Visitor Center for an indoor scavenger hunt, educational talks, and, of course, lots of free candy! The week after that, we joined with Rock Ledge Ranch to kick off Homeschool Week, whi2ch saw scores of students visit both sites for a day full of exciting events! Whether they were greeting the farm animals, watching the blacksmith workshop, or journeying up here for crafts and informational showings from our Park staff, these youngins had a busy and fun-filled day! Add in our awesome painting programs, Indoor Scavenger Hunt, Mystery Hike, and other educational programs, and it’s easy to see how “shoulder season” in no way means we’ve got nothing going on! Of course, if you’re looking to jump into some of these programs, check out our Event Calendar!

And that about wraps it up for this one! As always, huge shout-out to our awesome volunteers, staff, and visitors for your continued support of the Visitor Center and Garden of the Gods, and stay tuned for our next update!
