Give a Gift to the Garden!

The season of giving is upon us, and what better time to show the Garden of the Gods Park some love! The Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center is a link in a chain between the Garden of the Gods Park, the City of Colorado Springs, and the nonprofit Garden of the Gods Foundation. 

Let’s start from the beginning: the Visitor & Nature Center that you know and love was first created in 1995 by philanthropist, Lyda Hill, with the humble mission of maintaining and preserving the Garden of the Gods Park. Owned by the nonprofit Garden of the Gods Foundation, the Visitor & Nature Center’s mission is to provide a continuous stream of revenue to the Garden of the Gods Park while offering public education about this magnificent National Natural Landmark. A portion of every sale made in the Visitor & Nature Center – be it a movie ticket, event registration, meal, tour, or gift shop purchase – is donated annually by the Garden of the Gods Foundation to the City of Colorado Springs for the preservation and maintenance of the Garden of the Gods Park. Within this partnership between the Foundation, Visitor & Nature Center, and the City of Colorado Springs, we can all help to ensure that our beautiful Garden of the Gods Park is here to stay for generations to come.

With all of that in mind, it’s clear that the +$6 million that the Foundation has donated over the past 28 years is a product of our partnership working towards our common goal of supporting the Park and our community.
