Wildlife Ambassadors Inspire Awe & Action
by Karl Brummert, Nature’s Educators

No matter what their age or background, people are fascinated by hawks, owls, falcons, osprey, vultures, and eagles. A bird of prey soaring overhead or perched in a tree easily captures our attention. When we spot them for the first time, we often wonder, “What is that bird?”.
These birds live among us in urban, suburban, and rural environments. However, we often only get to observe them from a distance. What if you had a chance to see them up close?
Nature’s Educators, a leader in wildlife education since 2008, gives people that unique opportunity. Their mission is to inspire individuals to understand, respect, and conserve wildlife through educational programming and experiences.
And these engaging, interactive experiences involve live birds of prey and other wildlife.

Through Nature’s Educators’ programs, presented by trained wildlife handlers, participants not only learn how to identify these birds and other animals. They also discover their unique adaptations for survival, the vital role these animals play in our ecosystem, the challenges they face in the wild, and simple ways we can all play a part in their conservation.
Nature’s Educators is licensed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to house and care for injured and captive-bred raptors, which cannot be released back into the wild. These birds serve as living ambassadors for their wild counterparts, helping educate audiences of all ages about raptors, while highlighting how our actions can have an impact.

With this increased awareness and appreciation for Colorado wildlife, and an inspired sense of stewardship for the natural habitats we share with these animals, our goal is to get people so excited that they tell their friends and family what they learned. Thus, helping to spread our message!
