Hip-Hip-Hooray for Homeschool Day!

by Asya L. Simons, Park Guide & School Programs Coordinator, Garden of the Gods Park

The field trip program at the Garden of the Gods is tree-mendous. We love it, and we are sedimental about the time we get to spend leading school kids through the formations. Granite (how many environment puns can I get away with in one article?), there is always room to grow and new opportunities to explore. And City Staff is always excited to meet this challenge!

In order to offer bigger and better (or, at least different) educational possibilities for our visitors, this year we are hosting a Wonderful, Fantastic, Exciting Homeschool Day! On April 30th we invite all of our homeschool families (and lifelong learners) to explore the Garden of the Gods! Come into the Visitor and Nature Center to learn about Colorado’s wildlife with live animals from Nature’s Educators, sit in on presentations about the Garden, and explore our hands-on exploration stations to discover more about our local geology, ecology, and human history! After, grab a snack from the café and head into the park for a self-guided hike through the central garden. This event is designed to be a choose-your-own-adventure day, where families can personalize their learning experience based on their own needs and interests.

Drop in anytime between 10 am and 2 pm. We can’t wait to rock the Garden with you!
